The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is visiting Halls Creek on the 10th and 11th of October to ensure eligible Australians can have their say in the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey. The Halls Creek visit will take place at Civic Hall (Egan Street) between 8:30am-4:30pm (closed 12:00-12:30pm).

ABS Deputy Statistician and Taskforce Lead, Jonathan Palmer, said the pick-up site will be staffed with authorised ABS officers to help people unable to receive a survey form by post.

Eligible Australians who have not received a survey form or who need a replacement can collect a new survey form after verifying their identity

“Providing this service will help all eligible Australians have their say in the voluntary postal survey regardless of where they live.

“Completed survey forms can be posted using the Reply Paid envelope via the nearest post office or red post box, or submitted to an ABS authorised officer at a registered pick-up location,” he said.

All Australians are reminded that 20 October is the final day for requesting or picking up replacement survey forms, or for requesting a Secure Access Code to access telephone and online response options.

The full list of regional visits is available on the ABS website: www.marriagesurvey.abs.gov.au.
